Coxsackie-Athens Community Band
The Coxsackie-Athens Community Band is a wind ensemble comprised of musicians from Greene & surrounding counties. The band offers performances during the months of October through early June and is not usually active during the summer months. Regular concerts are presented and special performances are scheduled for community functions, etc. New members are always welcomed.
In the recent past the band has performed at Coxsackie Gazebo, St. Mary’s Church- Coxsackie, Coxsackie Yacht Club, Quarry Steak House, Athens Reformed Church, Athens Riverside Park, Catskill Gazebo, Catskill Fortnightly Festival of Trees, Rensselaerville, Winter Walk- Hudson, Hudson Presbyterian Church, Hudson Boat Launch, Hudson Court House Gazebo, Clermont State Historic Site, and Olana State Historic Site. In addition the band has performed for special community functions including the Memorial Day Parade, special fireman’s programs, and high school Baccalaureat.
The band is supported primarily by donations of concert attendees and friends. Additional support has come from the Town of Coxsackie, Coxsackie-Athens Rotary, grants from the Council on the Arts and the Bank of Greene County, Aria of Athens, Catskill Fortnightly, and a grant given by the Greene County Council on the Arts (through the decentralization of the NY State Council on the Arts).
