TOWN BOARD MEETING TOWN OF COXSACKIE December 30, 2021 PRESENT: Michael Veeder, Councilman GUESTS: The meeting was called to order by the Supervisor at 7:00 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance. Elected Officials Burke, Hanse, Hotaling, Kennedy, and Ross were sworn in. A motion to accept the minutes of December 14, 2021, was made by Thomas Burke seconded by Patrick Kennedy and duly carried. Rick reported that Richard Bellneir has resigned from his janitorial position effective December 31, 2021, and that his wife, Betty (Lillian) will be taking his place. A motion to accept Mr. Bellneir’s resignation and to hire Lillian in his stead was made by Patrick Kennedy seconded by Linda Wilkinson and duly carried. Ayes: 4 – Hanse, Burke, Kennedy, Wilkinson Absent: 1 – Veeder The proposed fire protection contract for Coxsackie Hose Co. No. 3 was presented. Supervisor reported that it is a one-year contract which includes a $6,000 increase. Patrick went on to say that he and Mike give kudos to Kevin Tobin the president as he has been very responsive and has the fire company financially on the right path. A motion to schedule the public hearing on the proposed fire protection contract with Coxsackie Hose Company No. 3 for January 11, 2022, after the organizational meeting which has previously been scheduled for 7:00 pm, was made by Patrick Kennedy seconded by Thomas Burke and duly carried. Ayes: 4 – Hanse, Burke, Kennedy, Wilkinson Absent: 1 – Veeder Councilman Burke stated that all fire companies are an asset to the community and that Mike and Patrick did an excellent job on negotiations with Hose Company No. 3. General Fund and Highway bills in the amount of $24,371.05 were audited on abstract #13, voucher numbers 2021-959 through 2021-1024. A motion to accept the budget transfers as presented was made by Patrick Kennedy seconded by Thomas Burke and duly carried. Supervisor welcomed Thomas Hobart, Greene County Legislature. Tom stated that the chargebacks for the 2022 elections were not approved by the legislature. Discussion ensued; this issue could possibly be revisited. Rick thanked Tom for coming in.
