TOWN BOARD MEETING
TOWN OF COXSACKIE

October 10, 2023

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Hanse at 7:00 pm with the Pledge
of Allegiance.


A motion to accept the minutes of September 12, 2023, was made by Patrick Kennedy seconded by Michael Veeder and duly carried.


The meeting was opened for public comments:


Carol Metz asked why the board declined to update the comprehensive plan.  Supervisor responded on behalf of the board stating that they have discussed this on several occasions. The board is not interested in spending money to take on this project, and that changes to the Town zoning code are considered as needs arise. 


Proposed Local Law #3-2023 was presented.  The proposed law calls for a six-month moratorium on new excavation or mining of lands approvals.  A Motion to set a public hearing for November 14 at 7:00 pm was made by Patrick Kennedy seconded by Michael Veeder and duly carried.


Beth Tailleur asked if the public would be able to provide input regarding the local law; comments can be submitted in writing and/or in person at the public hearing.


Chip asked if the moratorium could lead to the possibility of changing the zoning.


Pat Kennedy would like to see the issue of storage containers being used as living spaces be addressed as it appears the Town of Catskill may be having trouble.    


It was noted that the Town received a Thirty-day advance notice for liquor license from Most Like Toast LLC. 


General Fund and Highway bills in the amount of $37,757.74 were audited on abstract #10, voucher numbers 2023-536 through 2023-583.   


A motion to accept the August Justice reports was made by Linda Wilkinson seconded by Michael Veeder and duly carried.


At 7:10 pm a motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Michael Veeder seconded by Linda Wilkinson and duly carried.
